Never hitchhiked before but picked this spot at the autobahn on ramp trying to head to Berlin,took us (two 20 year old guys, one who is German one not) 10-20 minutes to get a ride to Brandenburg very close to Berlin. The shoulder of the road has a decent place for cars to stop once you climb the stairs to the top of the loop. Only complaint is no shade and maybe you don't want to stand on the shoulder like this.

Quite a lot of full cars with holiday-goers, but enough traffic atleast! Got a lift that went close to Berlin after around half an hour. A few people were also going North.―Mazi

As I arrived I was quite hopeless and thought that I won't get a lift from there because there wasn't much traffic and people just drove to places nearby. But after an hour or something I got a direct lift to Leipzig. So it worked out quite well anyway. The petrol stations stuff was quite funny and helpful, thanks for that!Good luck, God bless you!

Total Station, there is not too much traffic and a lot of people just drive to places nearby but there is still the possibility to get a lift north- and southward bound on the A10. It seemed to me that there were more people going to the north than to the south.―Anonymous
